Why do we need Christ as our mediator?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the Mediator who satisfies God's law on our behalf, enabling us to approach God with confidence.

The role of Christ as Mediator is essential in the sovereign grace framework. As the one who fulfilled God's law and bore the penalty for sin, Christ provides a way for fallen humanity to be reconciled with God. Hebrews 6 describes Him as our forerunner, having entered the heavenly sanctuary for us. This mediation is vital because it underscores that we cannot approach God based on our own merits or righteousness. Instead, it is by Christ's obedience and sacrifice that we are accepted. Understanding His mediatorial work assures believers that they have an advocate who intercedes for them and has secured their standing before God, allowing them to live in the assurance of His love.
