Why do we need Christ if we are aware of our sin?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is essential because He provides the only remedy for our sin and guilt through His death and righteousness.

The awareness of sin serves to highlight our desperate need for Christ, the only source of true hope and salvation. In recognizing our total inability to be righteous on our own, we understand that mere knowledge of our sin is insufficient; we require a Savior who can cleanse and redeem us. As Paul states, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), but through faith in Christ, we receive His perfect righteousness. This righteousness covers our sin and allows us to stand justified before God. Thus, Christ's work on the cross addresses our greatest need: forgiveness and reconciliation with our Creator.
