Why do we need Jesus as our King?

Answered in 1 source

We need Jesus as our King to rule our lives and to save us from our sins (John 19:14).

The concept of Jesus as King is pivotal in historic Reformed theology. This acknowledgment reflects our understanding of true authority and sovereignty. In John 19:14, Jesus is presented as the true King, over whom we have no power. His kingship is necessary not just for authority, but for salvation—He reigns to subdue our iniquities and draw us closer to God. Without acknowledging His kingship, we remain lost in sin, unable to approach Him without His sovereign grace.
