Why do we need to be continually cleansed by God?

Answered in 1 source

Christians require continual cleansing due to ongoing sin and impurity in our lives.

The need for continual cleansing stems from the reality that even after our initial washing in Christ's blood, we are still prone to sin. Throughout life, we encounter trials that can defile our consciences, as mentioned in Hebrews 10:22, which calls us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience. The continual need for God’s cleansing illustrates our dependence on Him and the grace that flows from His promises. We constantly call upon Him in repentance, trusting that He is faithful to forgive and restore us, just as a mother consistently cares for her child.
