Why do we need to be saved according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

According to the Bible, we need to be saved because all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, resulting in separation from Him.

The need for salvation arises because all humanity is sinful and has broken God's law, as echoed in Romans 3:23, 'for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' Our sins separate us from a holy God, who cannot overlook sin. The justice of God demands that a penalty be paid for our sinfulness, and it is appointed for man once to die and then face judgment (Hebrews 9:27). The repercussions of sin render humanity in desperate need of salvation, which is addressed by the coming of Jesus Christ as our Savior.
