Why do we preach the gospel to all if only the elect are saved?

Answered in 1 source

We preach the gospel to all because it is God's command and the means He uses to save His elect, ensuring that none of them are lost.

Though the elect are the only ones who will ultimately be saved, the command to preach the gospel to all is rooted in God's sovereign plan. Matthew 28:19-20 commands believers to make disciples of all nations, emphasizing the importance of sharing the gospel universally. Our lack of knowledge regarding who the elect are makes it imperative that we preach indiscriminately. In 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5, we see that the power of the gospel works effectively in those whom God has chosen. Thus, our preaching becomes an act of obedience that serves the purpose of God's sovereignty and mercy in calling His elect to Himself.
