Why does God allow His saints to fall into sin?

Answered in 1 source

God allows the fall of His saints to demonstrate His mercy and the depth of His grace that restores them to Him.

God’s ordaining of the falls of His saints is not accidental; it serves to reveal both our deep-seated depravity and His tremendous grace. In David’s case, although he fell into serious sin, God did not abandon him but instead sent Nathan to confront him. This illustrates how God uses the failures of His people to bring about deeper awareness of their need for grace and the reality of His merciful character. As illustrated in Proverbs 24:16, while the just may fall, they are raised again, demonstrating God’s faithfulness.
