Why does God allow suffering and difficulties for His people?

Answered in 1 source

God allows suffering for the good of His people and for His glory (Romans 8:28).

Romans 8:28 assures believers that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This does not mean that all circumstances are inherently good, but that God, in His sovereign wisdom, orchestrates everything for the ultimate good of His elect. Difficulties can serve to build faith, refine character, and advance the gospel, demonstrating God's providence even in hardship. Thus, God's allowance of suffering unfolds His greater purposes in the lives of His people and achieves His glorification.
