Why does God allow suffering in our lives?

Answered in 2 sources

God allows suffering to refine our faith and draw us closer to Him, assuring us of His ultimate purpose for our good.

Suffering plays a significant role in the life of a believer. It is often through trials that God refines our faith and teaches us dependence on Him (Romans 5:3-5). The visible suffering of Christ serves as a model for us, demonstrating that suffering is not without purpose. It aligns with God's plan, reminding us that our current struggles are temporary and lead us toward an eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17). Thus, one should take comfort that God is sovereign even in suffering, working all things for our ultimate good and sanctification.
