Why does God allow trouble in the lives of believers?

Answered in 1 source

God allows trials in our lives to shape us and enable us to comfort others.

In 2 Corinthians 1:4, Paul conveys that the trials believers face serve a dual purpose: they bring about personal growth and prepare us to be effective comforters for others. Through our experiences of affliction and subsequent comfort from God, we gain the compassion and insight necessary to assist others facing similar struggles. This transformative purpose illustrates God's sovereignty, as He uses our difficulties to enrich our ministry and strengthen the body of Christ.
