Why does God bless us?

Answered in 1 source

God blesses us for Christ's sake, not based on our own merits or faithfulness.

The primary reason God blesses us is articulated in Ephesians 4:32, where we are called to be kind and forgiving to one another, just as God forgives us 'for Christ's sake.' This suggests that God's blessings are ultimately rooted in Christ's redemptive work, rather than dependent on our actions or sincerity. If God's blessings were contingent on our obedience or purity, we would only know curses, as our true nature is sinful and unworthy. Thus, God's grace is a gift that arises out of His love for His Son and extends to us as His children.
