Why does God call His people out of spiritual wilderness?

Answered in 1 source

God calls His people out of spiritual wilderness to offer them His grace, restoration, and the promise of hope.

In the context of Hosea, God draws His people from spiritual wildernesses to reveal the depth of His love and grace. The wilderness experience illustrates a state of emptiness and despair; however, it is within this desolate state that God speaks comfort to His people, promising restoration and hope (Hosea 2:14). This process also reflects the necessity of being stripped of their idols and pointing them towards true satisfaction found in Christ alone. The wilderness experience prepares them to recognize their spiritual need and the sufficiency of God's grace.
