Why does God give gifts to believers?

Answered in 1 source

God gives gifts to believers to edify the church and glorify Himself.

In Ephesians 4:11-13, we see that God bestows gifts on believers for the purpose of perfecting the saints and building up the body of Christ. Each member of the church is given gifts that serve different functions, but all work together for the common goal of unity and maturity in faith. This diversity of gifts, distributed as God sees fit, emphasizes that no individual can claim superiority. Instead, the focus is on the collective purpose: to glorify Christ and to serve each other in love, acknowledging that every role, no matter how small it may seem, is essential in God's plan.
