Why does God’s knowledge about us make Christ precious?

Answered in 1 source

God's intimate knowledge of His people, demonstrated by His countless thoughts toward them, makes Christ precious (Psalm 139:17-18).

Psalm 139:17-18 reveals the depth of God's care and attention towards His people, stating, 'How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!' The assurance that God knows His people intimately fosters a sense of security and worth. Knowing that He thinks about them, has a plan for them, and cares for them deeply enhances the view of Christ's preciousness in the hearts of believers. In recognizing this divine attention from God, it leads believers to appreciate Christ even more, as He is the mediator through whom they understand this intimate relationship with the Father.
