Why does God want all that we have?

Answered in 1 source

God desires all that we have because He claims everything as His own, and He calls us to acknowledge His lordship over our lives.

God's claim over our lives extends to every aspect of our being: our time, talent, and resources, as acknowledged in Scripture. According to the sermon, God asserts ownership because all things come from Him and return to Him. When Christians understand this claim, they realize their call to serve Him with their entire selves. This acknowledgment transforms their perspectives on possessions and priorities. Thus, living as a response to God's claim involves presenting oneself as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), which aligns with God’s intended use of every aspect of a believer’s life for His glory.
