Why does Satan want to hide the righteousness of God?

Answered in 1 source

Satan seeks to conceal the righteousness of God to prevent sinners from understanding salvation.

Satan blurs the truth of the gospel, attempting to keep the righteousness of God hidden from the minds of men. According to 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, he blinds the hearts of those who do not believe, preventing them from seeing the light of the glorious gospel. This allows Satan to perpetuate the false notion that righteousness can be attained through human efforts rather than through faith in Christ. By keeping the doctrine of imputed righteousness obscured, he thwarts God’s plan for redemption and salvation, which is based entirely on Christ's finished work.
