Why does suffering matter for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Suffering is a means through which Christians are refined and can share in Christ's glory.

Suffering serves a vital role in the life of a Christian. In 1 Peter 4:12-13, believers are reminded not to view trials as strange but as opportunities to partake in Christ's sufferings. This participation results in a greater appreciation of His glory that will be revealed in the future. Suffering tests and refines faith, fostering dependence on God and building character. As believers endure hardships, they reflect the suffering of Christ, which ultimately leads to greater joy and glory in His presence at His return.
