Why don't family relationships continue in heaven?

Answered in 1 source

In heaven, earthly family relationships do not continue; instead, our primary relationship will be with Christ and the family of God.

The nature of relationships in the new kingdom is defined by a transformative experience in Christ. As stated in the sermon, earthly family ties will not persist in heaven, with Jesus Himself teaching that in the resurrection, people neither marry nor are given in marriage (Matthew 22:30). The focus of relationships will shift entirely to our connection with Christ and fellow believers, united as one family of God. This truth encourages us to re-evaluate our priorities, recognizing that our ultimate allegiance and love should be directed towards Christ, who is the source of our joy and fellowship in eternity.
