Why is a heart of dependence important in prayer?

Answered in 1 source

A heart of dependence recognizes our utter need for God and His provision in our lives.

A heart of dependence is crucial in prayer because it places our reliance fully on God as the source of all our needs. As stated in Matthew 6:11, we are to pray for 'this day our daily bread,' which signifies our reliance on God for sustenance. Recognizing our need for Him is foundational to spiritual growth and fosters a deeper relationship with our Creator. It's in this dependency that we demonstrate faith, acknowledging that our sustenance—both physical and spiritual—comes from Him alone, and trusting in His provision assures us of His continual care.
