Why is access to God important for Christians?

Answered in 5 sources

Access to God is vital as it allows believers to have a personal relationship with Him, established through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 10:20).

Access to God is critical for Christians because it signifies the removal of barriers that once separated humanity from God. Under the Old Covenant, access was restricted to the high priest, who could only enter the holy of holies once a year. However, Christ’s sacrifice opened a new and living way for all believers to enter freely into God’s presence (Hebrews 10:20). This access empowers believers to enjoy ongoing fellowship with God, bringing their cares and petitions before Him and nurturing a deep, personal relationship that is supported by Christ’s interceding work.
