Why is acknowledging Jesus as king important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Acknowledging Jesus as king is crucial for true worship and salvation; without recognizing His authority, there is no true faith.

Recognizing Jesus as king is vital because it establishes the foundation of our faith and the essence of true worship. Without acknowledging His kingship, our relationship with God remains superficial and uninformed. As emphasized in Colossians 1:16-18, all things were created through and for Him, and He is the head of the body, the church. Therefore, to fully engage in a relationship with Christ, we must submit to Him as our sovereign ruler, trusting in His power to reconcile us to God through the blood of His cross (Colossians 1:20). Failure to recognize His authority leads to spiritual blindness and false religion, wherein individuals operate according to their own understanding rather than divine guidance, ultimately leading to destruction.
