Why is addressing racism important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Addressing racism is crucial as it reflects the love of Christ and the unity that believers are called to maintain within the church.

For Christians, confronting racism is essential because it directly contravenes the commandment to love one another as Christ has loved us. Racism creates division and inhibits true worship among believers. The presence of hate undermines the credibility of the church's testimony and denies the power of the gospel that brings unity among diverse people. Unfortunately, unchecked racism can perpetuate immaturity within the church, leading to an environment that fails to embody the love and peace of Christ, ultimately affecting the church's witness in the world.
