Why is being born again necessary to enter the kingdom of heaven?

Answered in 1 source

Being born again is necessary because, as stated in John 3:5, without spiritual birth, one cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Jesus explicitly states in John 3:5 that unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. This concept of being born again emphasizes the need for a complete transformation that only God can accomplish. Our first birth does not qualify us for the kingdom due to our sinful nature, and thus, a second birth, a spiritual rebirth, initiated by the Holy Spirit, is required. This sovereign work of God enables us to believe and embrace the gospel, thus allowing us to enter into His kingdom.
