Why is being born from above important for Christians?

The importance of being born from above cannot be overstated in the life of a Christian. It marks the beginning of a person's spiritual journey and transformation, enabling one to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:5). Regeneration, as emphasized in Ezekiel 36:27, is a unique act of God where He places His Spirit within us, leading us to walk in His statutes. This divine action is entirely God's doing and emphasizes that we can do nothing to save ourselves. Without this supernatural birth, believers would remain under the curse of spiritual death and incapable of true faith and repentance. Therefore, understanding and embracing our new identity in Christ, as born of the Spirit, is essential for living a life that pleases God.
