Why is being born of the Spirit important for Christians?

Being born of the Spirit is essential for Christians because it signifies the transformative work that God performs in a believer’s life, enabling them to grasp and appreciate the truths of God's Word. Christ articulated this critical need when He told Nicodemus that flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit (John 3:6). This birth from above is what allows a believer to worship God truly and personally, as it creates a new spirit within them that desires and seeks after God. Without this spiritual rebirth, one remains in spiritual blindness, unable to comprehend the Kingdom of God and fulfill the calling to worship Him in Spirit and truth.
