Why is being in Christ important for experiencing God's promises?

Answered in 1 source

Being in Christ grants believers access to all of God's promises, which are secured by His perfect work.

For believers, being in Christ is crucial because all of God's promises are linked to Him and His finished work on the cross. As stated in Ephesians 1:3, believers are blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. This union with Christ secures our inheritance and gives us the grounds to claim the promises found in Scripture. The assurance that 'all the promises of God in Him are Yes and in Him Amen' (2 Corinthians 1:20) underlines that God's commitments are immutable and are grounded not in our merit but in Christ’s grace.
