Why is being in the family of God important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Being in the family of God provides believers with security, purpose, and mutual support.

The significance of being part of the family of God cannot be overstated. This relationship assures believers of their identity as children of God, offering them security and belonging (John 20:17). Within this family, they enjoy the mutual love and support of fellow believers who are also part of Christ's body. Additionally, being included in God’s family comes with glorious privileges such as access to the Father and the inheritance that believers share as joint heirs with Christ. Thus, understanding and valuing the family of God encourages Christians to nurture their relationships with one another in love and service.
