Being quickened by the Spirit is crucial because it enables the spiritually dead to believe and receive salvation.

In Ephesians 2:1, Paul writes, 'And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.' This quickening is the divine action of the Holy Spirit that revives the soul and opens one’s heart to the truth of the Gospel. Without this work of the Spirit, individuals remain spiritually dead and incapable of pursuing God or accepting His grace. This transformation is necessary for faith to arise and for an individual to genuinely respond to God’s call.
