Why is belief in Jesus Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Belief in Jesus Christ is essential, as it secures our salvation and acknowledges His lordship (Acts 16:31).

Belief in Jesus Christ is central to the Christian faith because it is through Him that we are saved from sin, ourselves, and ultimately from the wrath of God. The command to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ establishes His authority as both Savior and Lord. Recognizing Jesus as Lord means acknowledging that His will is supreme and that He is the one who sovereignly saves His people. Belief encompasses trust in His person and work, assuring us that our salvation is fully secured in Him and not in our own effort or righteousness.
