Why is believing God's promises essential?

Answered in 1 source

Believing God's promises allows Christians to receive His gifts and assures them of His faithfulness.

Belief in God's promises is foundational for the Christian faith. The sermon illustrates that the Israelites were right at the edge of their promised inheritance but forfeited it due to their lack of faith. They had the assurance from God, yet they doubted and succumbed to their fears. Hebrews 3 reminds believers today to hold firm to their faith, as it is through believing in God's trustworthy nature that we can claim His promises and enjoy the rest He offers. The assurance of salvation and the comforts of God are rooted in faith, enabling Christians to live confidently. Ultimately, faith not only activates God's promises but also deepens the believer's relationship with Him.
