Why is believing God's Word important?

Answered in 1 source

Believing God's Word is essential because it contains the revelation of who God is and His plan for salvation.

Believing God's Word is crucial for several reasons. First and foremost, the Scriptures serve as the primary means through which God reveals Himself to humanity. In Hebrews 1:1-2, it states that God spoke to the fathers by the prophets and ultimately through His Son. This means that the entire Bible points to Jesus Christ, who is the epitome of God's revelation. Additionally, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17), meaning that a true understanding of faith is grounded in the trustworthiness of Scripture. Thus, to believe God's Word is to believe in the very nature and character of God and His promises for salvation, which sustains and enriches the believer’s life.
