Why is believing in God's Son important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Believing in God's Son is essential because He is the appointed Savior, and without faith in Him, one cannot attain eternal life (1 John 5:12).

Belief in God's Son, Jesus Christ, is central to Christian faith as outlined in 1 John 5:11-12, which asserts that eternal life is found exclusively in the Son. This relationship signifies the assurance of salvation; to possess the Son is to possess life. Furthermore, recognizing Jesus as Lord and recognizing His sacrificial work on the cross is foundational. A genuine faith acknowledges Christ's divinity and His role as the Redeemer. Without this faith, one remains in spiritual death, separated from God. Thus, it is imperative for every believer to hold a correct understanding and belief in who Jesus is.
