Why is believing in Jesus as the Son of God crucial for salvation?

1 John 5:1 states, 'Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.' This belief is critical because it acknowledges Jesus not only as a historical figure but as the divine Son of God who came to save humanity. His incarnation, life, death, and resurrection are the foundations of our faith. Accepting Him as the Christ means trusting in His atoning sacrifice, which is the only means by which we can receive forgiveness for our sins and obtain eternal life. In essence, true faith stems from recognizing Jesus for who He truly is.
