Why is believing Jesus as king important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Believing Jesus as king is crucial because it establishes Him as the authority to whom we owe obedience and trust for salvation.

Recognizing Jesus Christ as our King changes the very foundation of our faith. As depicted in Matthew 21:5-6, the acknowledgment of Jesus as King compels us to obey His commands and submit to His authority. This relationship is not one of mere acknowledgment; it forms the basis of our salvation. Christians believe that Jesus' kingship means He is the provider of our righteousness and peace with God. When faced with the demands of the law and our inability to fulfill it, knowing Jesus is King gives us assurance that He has accomplished all of our salvation in His death and resurrection, allowing us to trust in Him completely for our deliverance.
