Why is Christ called the Door in the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is referred to as the Door to signify that He is the sole means of access to salvation and fellowship with God.

In John 10:9, Jesus declares, 'I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.' This metaphor underscores the exclusivity of Christ as the gateway to eternal life and communion with God. It signifies that no other path can lead to salvation, reinforcing the principles found in Acts 4:12, stating, 'And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.'

Additionally, the imagery of the door relates to the security and protection He provides for His people. Just as a door safeguards those within, Christ ensures that those who enter through Him are protected and nurtured in the faith. The Gate symbolizes His authority, love, and the relationship He offers, making Him essential for eternal life. Believers can rejoice, knowing that they enter by Him, their appointed means of grace and security.
