Why is Christ called the 'one man needful'?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is the one man needful because He is essential for life, salvation, and eternal relationship with God.

The sermon illustrates that while many things may be desirable in life, only one thing is necessary: a relationship with Jesus Christ. Stalnaker states that without Him, all else is meaningless, echoing Paul's sentiments in Philippians 3 about the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. In essence, He is the source of our happiness, peace, and fulfillment. To have Christ is to have all we need for both this life and the next, as He meets every need of the soul and is our ultimate security.
