Why is Christ central to a believer's life?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is central to a believer's life as He is their life, hope, and sustenance, making everything else secondary.

In the life of a believer, Christ is not merely an addition to life but the very essence of it. As stated in Galatians 2:20, 'the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God.' This signifies that a true believer's identity and purpose are found wholly in Christ, who is their bread, water, and comfort. Any conflict with worldly affairs must yield to the supremacy of Christ; hence, succeeding in life involves recognizing His authority over all aspects of one's existence. This total commitment is paramount; without it, one cannot be a disciple of Christ.
