Why is Christ central to our understanding of grace?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is central to grace because all blessings and righteousness come through faith in Him alone (Galatians 5:4).

In historical Reformed theology, Christ is the centerpiece of all grace. Galatians 5:4 warns that if one seeks to attain justification through the law, they have fallen from grace. This teaches us that all spiritual blessings, including grace and righteousness, are made available solely through faith in Jesus Christ. This perspective reinforces that any attempt to supplement or replace grace with works is counterproductive. Christ alone is our Mediator and source of grace, and this understanding transforms a believer's life, leading to joy, fervent discipleship, and reliance on Christ for all things.
