Why is Christ central to our understanding of worship?

The narrative in 1 Kings 13 serves as a theological backdrop for understanding the significance of Christ in worship. All Old Testament ceremonies, including the prophecies, sacrifices, and priestly functions foreshadow His coming. Worship should reflect His authority and acknowledge Him as the sole mediator between God and man. When we engage in worship, we must recognize that Christ is not just a part of our faith but is the essence of it—He is our sacrifice, our high priest, and our ultimate King. Any deviation from the worship that honors Him and relies on His redemptive work is inappropriate and dishonoring to God.
