Why is Christ considered a refuge for believers?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is a refuge for believers because He protects and covers them from God's wrath.

Christ serves as a refuge for believers, symbolically representing safety and protection from judgment. Just as Moses was hidden in the cleft of the rock, believers are shielded by Christ from the consequences of their sin. This is further illustrated through the biblical example of Noah, who found refuge in the ark amid divine judgment. In Christ, all our sins are borne as He endured God's wrath on our behalf. This refuge ensures that the accusations against us are nullified, as God sees us through the righteousness of Christ rather than our sinfulness. Therefore, those who trust in Christ may approach God without fear, knowing they are accepted in Him.
