Why is Christ considered precious in the discussion of a believer's death?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is precious because He is our life, resurrection, and salvation.

1 Peter 2:7 tells us, 'Unto you therefore which believe He is precious.' Christ embodies everything that is valuable and significant in a believer's life, including our hope in facing death. Because of Christ, believers have assurance that their death leads to eternal life. The preciousness of Christ is intertwined with the believer's identity, ensuring that their physical death is not an end but a glorious beginning with Him.
