Why is Christ important in good doctrine?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is central to good doctrine as He embodies truth and the means of salvation.

Good doctrine cannot be separated from Christ because He is the embodiment of the truth and the foundation of our faith. In the preaching of good doctrine, we point to Christ as the source of wisdom and understanding. Proverbs 8 illustrates that Christ is wisdom itself, and to grasp good doctrine is to know Him. When doctrine is discussed, it should always lead back to the teaching of Christ, the gospel, and the salvation that comes through Him alone. Therefore, good doctrine must consistently reflect who Christ is and what He has accomplished for His people.
