Why is Christ necessary for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ is necessary for salvation as He is the only mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5).

Salvation cannot be attained outside of Christ, who is the sole mediator between a holy God and sinful humanity. 1 Timothy 2:5 states, 'For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.' This highlights the exclusive role that Jesus plays in reconciling us to God. Without His sacrificial death and resurrection, there is no means of atonement for sin, no restoration of our relationship with God. All blessings, mercy, and access to God come exclusively through Christ, making Him indispensable for our salvation and eternal life.
