Why is Christ our refuge important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ as our refuge is crucial for Christians as it provides protection from sin and enables us to withstand trials (Psalm 48:3).

Christ being our refuge plays a vital role in the believer's life, representing safety, security, and comfort in the midst of life's trials. Psalm 48:3 states, 'God is known in her palaces for refuge,' illustrating that in Christ, believers find shelter from their spiritual enemies and chaos in the world. Just as a city of refuge protected those fleeing from danger, Christ protects us from the judgment we rightly deserve due to our sins. Furthermore, He has borne our sins on the cross, so we remain safe from divine wrath. In trials, knowing that we reside within this refuge gives us peace and assurance that God is with us, underlining the significance of our union with Him.
