Why is Christ referred to as the truth?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus is referred to as the truth because He embodies the ultimate reality and reveals God's character.

When Jesus proclaims 'I am the truth' in John 14:6, He is asserting His identity as the ultimate standard of truth, contrasting with the falsehoods propagated by humanity and the world. Unlike human beings who may misrepresent reality, Jesus is the embodiment of truth, representing God's nature and will perfectly. This means that any belief contrary to Him is inherently false. Additionally, He fulfills the purpose of the Scriptures, as they point to Him as the realization of God’s truth for humanity. In a world filled with deceit, Jesus provides liberation through knowledge of Him as the truth itself, thereby allowing us to navigate life grounded in reality.
