Why is Christ's ascension important?

The ascension of Christ is pivotal for understanding His exalted status as the mediator of our salvation. In John 3:13, Jesus states that no one has ascended to heaven except the Son of Man who came down from there. This indicates His unique authority and divine nature, establishing Him as the only one qualified to redeem humanity.
