Why is Christ's humanity essential for our salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's humanity is vital as it enables Him to be our mediator and to represent us before God.

The humanity of Christ is indispensable to the Christian faith because it allows Him to function as the mediator between God and man. As articulated in 1 Timothy 2:5, there is one mediator, the man Christ Jesus. His assumed human nature allows Him to fully identify with our struggles and represent humanity accurately before God. Moreover, the perfect nature of His human existence ensures that He can fulfill the redemptive mission without the blemish of sin. Thus, His dual nature—fully God and fully man—confirms the sufficiency of His sacrifice for our salvation, highlighting the unique role He plays in reconciliation.
