Why is Christ's mercy important for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's mercy is essential for salvation as it reveals His willingness to forgive and restore sinners.

The mercy of Christ is foundational for our salvation, as illustrated in Isaiah 55:7, which states that if the wicked forsake their ways, the Lord will have mercy upon them. This promise is a comfort because it shows that salvation is not based on our merit, but on God's grace and mercy. Our spiritual condition mirrors that of the deaf man whose healing illustrates that we need Christ to open our eyes and ears to His truth and receive His forgiveness. Without His mercy, we would remain in our sin and spiritual blindness.
