Why is Christ's priestly work important for Christians?

Answered in 2 sources

Christ's priestly work is vital because it secures our atonement, redemption, and ongoing intercession before God (Hebrews 7:25).

The significance of Christ's priestly work cannot be overstated as it is the foundation of our salvation. According to Hebrews 7:25, He is able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. This means that not only did He secure our redemption through His sacrifice, but He continually intercedes on our behalf. His role as our high priest fulfills the need for mediation between a holy God and sinful humanity, assuring us that our relationship with God is restored. Thus, His priestly work assures believers of God's acceptance and the eternal security of their salvation.
