Why is Christ’s role as our high priest significant?

Answered in 3 sources

Christ's role as our high priest is crucial because He continuously intercedes for believers, carrying their names and judgments on His heart.

In Exodus 28:30, we learn that Aaron, as the high priest, bore the names of the children of Israel on his heart before God. This foreshadows Christ’s unique role as our great high priest who, as Hebrews 7:25 states, is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. The significance lies in the eternal representation and advocacy Christ provides; He conveys our needs and judgments before the Father with His own righteousness as our basis for acceptance, ensuring that believers are seen as perfect in God's sight due to His sacrifice.
